Toyota Land Cruiser V8 wins Security Award again
The Toyota Land Cruiser V8 has been voted number one yet again at the large 4x4 category at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards. The awards are designed to raise consumer awareness and let them consider the aspect of Security more when buying a car. Thousands of pounds worth of valuables is stolen each year from cars in Britain.
The Toyota Land Cruiser, available as a single variant, uses a 4.5-litre D-4D engine. The car which won the award is the eighth generation model. With its ability to seat seven, one of the world’s best selling SUVs has ensured safety, comfort and secure handling are at the top of their leagues.
Based on the New Vehicle Security Rating Scheme (NVSR), vehicles are assessed on points awarded under the categories of ‘theft of’ and ‘theft from’ the vehicle, with the winner achieving the highest overall score.
Thatcham’s Vehicle Security Manager, Mike Briggs, said, “Car manufacturers can be proud of what has been achieved in recent years in terms of security and at Thatcham we use the power of our New Vehicle Security Ratings as a publicly available and easy to understand guide to security levels, alongside these awards, to help drive dramatic improvements. All of those manufacturers who have been recognised today should be praised for their continuing efforts.”
